The industry is abuzz with talk of Best Practices Groups for one reason: they are a great way to share ideas and work on performance with long-distance peers in the towing and recovery industry.  Yes, financials are shared inside the closed group and all members are required to sign non-disclosure agreements.  Groups meet three times a year, typically in March, June and October.  Meetings are mandatory as the group acts as a board of directors for your company so participation is required.  The cost of each meeting is $2,000 payable prior to or at the meetings.  It's really simple and very effective. 

After obtaining his MBA at the top of his class, Bert began his career in corporate banking setting up the bank's business evaluation department and then becoming the youngest Vice President in the banks 150-year history specializing in mergers and acquisitions.  In 1997, he made a competing offer against Road One and purchased his  first towing company later growing that company to 4 locations with over 100 employees.  Bert began his affiliation with Best Practices Groups over 13 years ago, is a contributing editor on business topics for Tow Times Magazine and has been an ongoing presenter since the inception of the Tow Summit.
